Vermette's Market in Amesbury was established in 1943 by Edward
J. Vermette and his wife Mabel. The store has been expanded a few times since those early days to
meet the growing customer demand. Today the store is still run by Eddie and Mabel's daughter, Elaine Fowler. |

Vermette's offers a large grocery, meat, dairy and produce selection, as well as a great variety of beer,liquor and fine wines. It is also a lucky place to pick up your lottery tickets. We had a ten million dollar winner in June 2008 ! |

West Newbury Food Mart was opened by Eddie Vermette in 1959. It was much smaller then. A fire in 1963 forced a large scale rebuilding and expansion to the size you see
today. The Food Mart not only carries meat, produce and groceries, but also has liquor, beer, wine, lottery, and a coffee and donut section. |
